Sales training means the repeated, deliberate practice of selling situations — prospecting, discovery, objection handling, closing — out loud and in realistic conditions, to turn knowledge into reflex. Where sales education passes on methods, training drills the move until it becomes automatic. This glossary brings together the 14 key concepts of this new-generation, AI-powered training, and points you to the BizCoach AI pages where you can put them into practice.
Training & simulation
Sales training
Repeated practice of sales situations, out loud, to lock in the right reflexes. It does not replace sales education, it extends it: you learn a method, then you repeat it until it becomes natural. For the exact difference between the two, see our article sales education vs sales training.
AI sales simulator
Software that reproduces a sales counterpart (prospect, customer) using artificial intelligence. The sales rep trains against it at any hour, without tying up a colleague or burning a real prospect. BizCoach AI offers several specialised simulators, from prospecting to negotiation.
Voice simulation
Training where the sales rep speaks out loud and the AI answers by voice, in real time. You work on tone, pace, listening and quick thinking, just like a real call — a step beyond written exercises. We cover this technology in voice AI for sales training.
Sales role play (AI roleplay)
A classic exercise where two people play off each other, one as the sales rep, the other as the customer. AI roleplay is the upgraded version: the “customer” is played by a simulator, always available and never indulgent. Strengths and limits of the exercise: see sales role play.
Sparring partner
Borrowed from combat sports, the term refers to the training partner who offers real resistance so you improve. In BizCoach AI, the simulator plays that role: it objects, stalls and pushes the sales rep to adjust their approach, at the chosen difficulty level.
Sales training ground
A space, physical or digital, dedicated to repeated practice of sales situations. BizCoach AI is an online sales training ground: everyone practises there as much as they want, alone and independently, before playing the real meetings.
BizCoach simulators & AI Coaches
Prep Meeting
A module for preparing a sales meeting. The sales rep rehearses their upcoming meeting against a simulator configured to match the client's context, so they arrive ready on the day. Discover the Prep Meeting.
Débrief Meeting
Analysis module for after a real sales meeting. The sales rep revisits the conversation with an AI Coach to pinpoint what worked, what was missing and the next move to make. Discover the Débrief Meeting.
AI Coaches
Virtual coaches that debrief every training session. They analyze performance against consistent criteria and deliver concrete areas for improvement, with no judgment and no mood swings. It is the digital extension of the coaching manager, available around the clock.
We launched BizCoach in Challenge mode at our Sales Kick-Off with 150 sales reps. The enthusiasm was immediate: the teams got caught up in it, scores climbed in real time. It's the first time a training tool has generated this much excitement. Sales Director, Thales, Division Mobile Connectivity Solutions
Competition & progress
Sales challenge
A team competition where sales reps train and collect points over a set period. The live leaderboard drives engagement and embeds practice over time: this is the format that won over the 150 sales reps at Thales during their Sales Kick-Off.
BizCoins
Points earned for every training session completed successfully in BizCoach AI. They make progress tangible, feed the challenge leaderboards and reward consistency — the gamification engine that turns repetition into a game.
Ramp-up (building capability)
The time a sales rep needs to become fully operational, especially during onboarding. Intensive training from day one shortens this ramp-up by multiplying repetitions before the first real sales meetings.
AI feedback & scoring
Automated feedback delivered after every session. The AI assesses performance against a consistent scoring grid and assigns a score, which makes feedback objective and comparable from one session to the next — where peer feedback stays variable.
Sales methods
MEDDIC
A B2B opportunity qualification method built around six criteria: Metrics, Economic buyer, Decision criteria, Decision process, Identify pain, Champion (internal advocate). Properly qualified, a deal avoids stalling cycles. BizCoach AI lets you train on MEDDIC qualification in real conditions; to go deeper into the method itself and embed it in your sales process, the expertise comes from Kestio, a sales performance consultancy since 2005.
