Key takeaways
- Prospector is the BizCoach voice simulator dedicated to cold calling: you call a prospect played by an AI that objects and makes nothing easy.
- You train out loud, as many times as you want, without burning real prospects.
- You work the gatekeeper, the first 20 seconds, objection handling and booking the meeting.
- After every call, the AI Coaches deliver consistent feedback and scoring.
Why cold calling is hard to practice on real prospects
Cold calling is the most intimidating sales exercise there is: you call someone who expects nothing, has no time, and often just wants to hang up. The problem is that you cannot really “train” on it in real conditions: every failed call burns a real lead. A prospect you fail to hook, an objection handled clumsily, and the contact is lost — sometimes for good, for the whole brand.
The result: sales reps learn on the job, on prospects that cost a lot to generate, with quota pressure on top. Add to that the stress of picking up the phone: many put the call off, circle around the list, and lose their edge for lack of practice. That gap between theory and the real thing is exactly what a simulator fills.
How the Prospector simulator works
Prospector turns prospecting into a sales training ground. The principle is simple: the sales rep starts a call and speaks, out loud, to a prospect played entirely by AI. Everything is 100% voice — no quizzes, no checkboxes: you pick up, you talk, you listen, exactly like on the phone.
- An AI prospect who pushes back. The AI plays a realistic contact who objects, interrupts, tests you and makes nothing easy. It may hit you with a “You are the third person to call me this week” and wait for your reaction, without indulgence.
- The difficulty level you choose. A prospect in a hurry, a suspicious one, or a downright hostile one: the AI sparring partner adjusts to push you without discouraging you.
- Feedback and scoring after the call. Once you hang up, the AI Coaches analyse your call against consistent criteria and give you concrete areas to improve, call after call.
Because the sparring partner is an AI available around the clock, everyone trains alone, whenever they want, as much as they want — without tying up a colleague and without the awkwardness of performing in front of others.
We launched BizCoach in Challenge mode at our Sales Kick-Off with 150 sales reps. The enthusiasm was immediate: the teams got caught up in it, scores climbed in real time. It's the first time a training tool has generated this much excitement. Sales Director, Thales, Division Mobile Connectivity Solutions
What you actually work on
Prospector breaks the prospecting call down into skills you can drill one by one, until they become second nature.
- Getting past the gatekeeper. Get through the assistant or switchboard to reach the decision-maker, without being screened out. Go deeper: getting past the gatekeeper.
- The first 20 seconds. Capture attention with your opening line, before the prospect mentally hangs up. See: the phone opener.
- Handling objections. Answering “I don’t have time”, “send me an email” or “we already have a supplier” without getting defensive or giving up. See: handling objections on the phone.
- Book the meeting. End the call on a clear commitment and lock in the date, rather than letting it drift into a “let's touch base soon”.
Each of these building blocks is worked on in a loop: you replay the call, adjust, start again. It's the sheer volume of repetition — impossible to get on real leads — that builds ease. To frame your practice, our guide on cold calling training lays out how to proceed.
The method stays with Kestio
A simulator makes you drill the move; it does not replace the sales method behind it. The structure of a good cold call, the logic of an opening line that talks about the prospect and not about you, the art of qualifying before pitching: all of this comes from deep sales expertise.
That is where Kestio comes in: a sales performance firm since 2005, a “Centre of Sales Excellence” that has supported more than 800 clients with over 100 certified coaches and experts. BizCoach is the training ground; Kestio brings the method. To go deeper into the fundamentals of selling and prospecting, visit kestio.com.
